Home
This is where you control how the cards and table appear in Freecell3D.
This drop-down box lets you select the card deck to use. Freecell3D ships with a single deck, but more decks will be available from the Amber Mango website.
The card deck graphics can be stored in any of the following folders:
- The Freecell3D application folder, e.g. "Program Files\Freecell3D\Card Decks\"
- Your Windows "My Documents\Amber Mango\Card Decks\"
- The Windows "Common Files\Amber Mango\Card Decks\"
Note - if you specified a different folder for Freecell3D during setup this will override the "Program Files" folder
New card decks (with the file format .fcd for "Fulldeck Card Deck") can be added to these folders and used in the registered version of the game. If identically named files appear in two or more folders then the version in the folder highest in list will take precedence. Card deck files stored in the "Program Files\Freecell3D\Card Decks\" folder will be seen by Freecell3D only.
The High Detail cards are for use on fast computers with graphics cards with 8MB of video memory or more. If the display is corrupted or the game runs slow, switch back to the Low or Medium detail cards. There is also an option in the Freecell3D group in the Windows Start Menu that lets you do this without starting the game (in case you cannot start it). The Low or Medium Detail cards can look better than the large cards if you usually play Freecell3D in a small window or in a low screen resolution.
Some Card Decks may require an Access Code. This will be supplied to you when you obtain the Card Deck. You will be asked for this code the first time the Deck is used. The Access Code is a 10 character alpha-numeric code. Please keep your Access Codes written down in a safe place as you will need them if you reinstall Freecell3D.
Here you can select from a number of different table-tops. (In the Evaluation version you cannot change the table-top.)
The table graphics can be stored in any of the following folders:
- The Freecell3D application folder, e.g. "Program Files\Freecell3D\Card Tables\"
- Your Windows "My Documents\Amber Mango\Card Decks\"
- The Windows "Common Files\Amber Mango\Card Tables\"
Note - if you specified a different folder for Freecell3D during setup this will override the "Program Files" folder
New card tables (file format .fct for "Fulldeck Card Table") can be placed in any of these folders to be used in the registered version of Freecell3D. If identically named files appear in two or more folders then the version in the folder highest in list will take precedence. Table files stored in the "Program Files\Freecell3D\Card Tables\" folder will be seen by Freecell3D only.
If you have placed a deck or table file in a correct folder, but is is not shown in the Options, it probably means that the deck or table is not suitable for Freecell3D but is intended for use in other Amber Mango products. For example, a table might be the wrong shape, or a deck might have the wrong number of cards.
Click the button to go to the Amber Mango website to see if there are new card decks and tables to download.
This lets you choose how tidily the cards are arranged. With the slider on the "Tidy" setting (leftmost) then cards will appear perfectly straight in columns and will be stacked evenly on the Home Cells. As you move the slider towards "Untidy" the cards appear progressively more disarranged giving a more lifelike look.
