Using Freecell3D - Moving Cards
There are two ways of moving cards in Freecell3D. Drag or Point-and-Click. The default mode is Drag, but this can be changed using the Move Options.
Drag Mode: Click on the card you want to move using the primary mouse button (usually the left). Hold the button down and move the card to where you want it to go. Ensure the mouse cursor is over the card that you want to drop it over and release the button. You can set whether the cards appear 50% transparent as they are moved using the Move Options.
If the card does not move as you would expect, then you might have released the mouse button when it was not over the destination card. Watch for the mouse cursor to change to an open hand to indicated it is a possible drop-site.
If it still does not work the move is probably not allowed in the rules of the game.
Point-and-Click Mode: Click on the card you want to move and it should highlight. Then, simply click again on the card you want to move it over.
Whenever you move a card to a Home Cell your score increases by one. You can see the current score in the Status Bar at the bottom of the main window.
Freecell3D take some of work out of moving cards by letting you combine a set of legal moves together into a Compound Move. Compound Moves allow you to transfer an ordered group of cards from the end of one column to another column, but only if there are enough empty Free Cells and Columns so that you could have done the same task one card at a time. To carry out a Compound Move, ensure the cursor is over the first card of the group of cards when you start your drag or first click. If Drag mode is set, all the cards should follow the mouse cursor. If Point-and-Click mode is set then all the cards should highlight.
Note: For a Compound Move to be allowed, then number of free spaces must be greater than the number of cards moved minus one. If you are moving the cards to an empty column then that column does not count as one of the free spaces. However, it there are multiple empty columns the number of cards that can be moved increases as it possible to split the move. These are sometimes called supermoves.
