Using Freecell3D - The Solver
Freecell3D features a Solver, written by Shlomi Fish. This can be used in a number of ways to help you with your game. The solver is available from both the Game Window and the Moves Window via the Solver menu. This menu offers three solver options and Auto Finish.
Select Solve and Freecell3D starts to compute a solution to the game from the current position. This may take a few moments. If it finds a solution, it will tell you the number of moves and start to solve the Game, one move at a time. You can watch the moves as they happen, and they also appear in the Moves Window. At any time you can click the Stop button in the solver pop-up window to end the solver at the current position. The rate at which the moves happen can be controlled - see Auto Move Rate. A game completed using the solver will be recorded as "Solved With Assistance" in the game Statistics).
If the solver finds it cannot complete the game from the current position, it will let you know.
This is similar to the solver, but you can control how many moves Freecell3D will perform for you. A pop-up window will appear into which you can enter the number of moves that you would like the solver to suggest. If the solver can find a solution it will perform the number of requested moves for you. Otherwise it will tell you the game cannot be solved. If you miss one or more of the moves, you can review them in the Moves Window or use Undo/Redo to replay them. A game completed using the solver will be recorded as "Solved With Assistance" in the game Statistics).
Check Out
Check Out simply tells you is the game is solvable from the current position. It also gives you the number of moves that the Solver has managed to solve the game in (from the current position). Check Out does not count as "assistance" so it will not affect your statistics.
